Smithsonian Magazine is sponsoring free admission Saturday, Sept. 26, 2009 at hundreds of museums across the country. The free pass is good for you and one guest and does not include entry to special exhibits or IMAX screenings.
Caveats: one card per household, no rain checks, cannot be combined with other offers, card must be presented for free general admission.

Some of the museums participating include the Skirball Center in Los Angeles, B&O Railroad Museum in Baltimore, Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum in NYC, the San Diego Air and Space Museum, the San Diego Natural History Museum, 12 Smithsonian museums in Washington D.C., the Africa American Museum in Philadelphia and the Museum of Flight in Seattle.

Does “one card per household” mean that only one person per household can attend?

Each pass allows you to take one guest, so up to two people per household can get in free with the pass.

Just read your e-mail and tried to register. Registration closed!! “Try next year.” was what I got.

Sorry to hear you had a problem, Carol. When I clicked on the link it took me to a page that had a link to a PDF. I open the PDF to print so I’m not sure why it didn’t work for you. Do you have Adobe so you can open PDFs?
